KRV 요시야의 아들 시드기야가 여호야김의 아들 고니야를 대신하여 왕이 되었으니 이는 바벨론 왕 느부갓네살이 그로 유다 땅의 왕을 삼음이었더라0% 차이

NIV Zedekiah son of Josiah was made king of Judah by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; he reigned in place of Jehoiachin son of Jehoiakim.

ESV Zedekiah the son of Josiah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah, reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim.

NIV Neither he nor his attendants nor the people of the land paid any attention to the words the LORD had spoken through Jeremiah the prophet.

NIV King Zedekiah, however, sent Jehukal son of Shelemiah with the priest Zephaniah son of Maaseiah to Jeremiah the prophet with this message: “Please pray to the LORD our God for us.”

NIV Pharaoh’s army had marched out of Egypt, and when the Babylonians who were besieging Jerusalem heard the report about them, they withdrew from Jerusalem.

ESV The army of Pharaoh had come out of Egypt. And when the Chaldeans who were besieging Jerusalem heard news about them, they withdrew from Jerusalem.

NIV “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Tell the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of me, ‘Pharaoh’s army, which has marched out to support you, will go back to its own land, to Egypt.

NIV Then the Babylonians will return and attack this city; they will capture it and burn it down.’

NIV Even if you were to defeat the entire Babylonian army that is attacking you and only wounded men were left in their tents, they would come out and burn this city down.”

시드기야는 자기를 왕으로 세워준 바벨론의 이야기들을 듣지 않았고, 하나님의 말씀도 듣지 않았습니다.

그런데 시드기야는 예레미야에게 "우리를 위하여 우리 하나님께 기도해달라"고 부탁한다. 

34장에 시드기야의 이야기가 갑자기 마무리되고 35-36장은 여호야김의 이야기가 들어가 있었다. 

34장에서 시드기야의 이야기 마지막 부분은 자신의 탐욕에 하나님의 말씀에 순종하지 못한 시드기야의 모습과 하나님의 심판 예언으로 끝나게 되었었다.

⁸  ○시드기야 왕이 예루살렘에 있는 모든 백성과 언약하고 자유를 선언한 후에 여호와께로서 말씀이 예레미야에게 임하니라 

⁹  그 언약은 곧 사람으로 각기 히브리 남녀 노비를 놓아 자유케 하고 그 동족 유다인으로 종을 삼지 못하게 한 것이라 

¹⁰  이 언약에 참가한 방백들과 모든 백성이 각기 노비를 자유케하고 다시는 종을 삼지 말라 함을 듣고 순복하여 놓았더니 

¹¹  후에 그들의 뜻이 변하여 자유케 하였던 노비를 끌어다가 다시 복종시켜 노비를 삼았더라

시드기야는 아마 마음이 무거웠을 것이다. 바벨론은 예루살렘을 포위하고 있었고, 하나님의 심판은 이미 선포되었다.

이러한 가운데서 시드기야는 예레미야를 통해서 하나님의 기적을 바라고 있었다.

도대체 시드기야의 기도는 무엇이 잘못되어 있는가??

시드기야의 문제는 김근주 교수님의 말씀대로 "일상은 도외시한체 비상을 바라는 것"이다.

하나님 앞에 일상에서는 불순종으로 살면서, 믿음으로 살지 못하면서, 위기상황에서의 기적을 바라는 것이다.

참된 기도는 나의 기대를 이루기 위해 하나님의 뜻을 돌이키는 것이 아니라, 하나님의 기대에 맞게 나를 돌이키는 것입니다. 간절함에 앞서 ‘방향’을 제대로 세우는 일이 우선되어야 합니다.

믿음은 기적을 바라는 것이 아니라 오늘도 하나님의 말씀안에 하루를 살아가는 것이 진짜 믿음이다.
