NIV Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about every disaster I plan to inflict on them, they will each turn from their wicked ways; then I will forgive their wickedness and their sin.”

NIV So Jeremiah called Baruch son of Neriah, and while Jeremiah dictated all the words the LORD had spoken to him, Baruch wrote them on the scroll.

NIV So you go to the house of the LORD on a day of fasting and read to the people from the scroll the words of the LORD that you wrote as I dictated. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in from their towns.

ESV so you are to go, and on a day of fasting in the hearing of all the people in the LORD’s house you shall read the words of the LORD from the scroll that you have written at my dictation. You shall read them also in the hearing of all the men of Judah who come out of their cities.

NIV Baruch son of Neriah did everything Jeremiah the prophet told him to do; at the LORD’s temple he read the words of the LORD from the scroll.

NIV In the ninth month of the fifth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, a time of fasting before the LORD was proclaimed for all the people in Jerusalem and those who had come from the towns of Judah.

NIV From the room of Gemariah son of Shaphan the secretary, which was in the upper courtyard at the entrance of the New Gate of the temple, Baruch read to all the people at the LORD’s temple the words of Jeremiah from the scroll.

ESV Then, in the hearing of all the people, Baruch read the words of Jeremiah from the scroll, in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the secretary, which was in the upper court, at the entry of the New Gate of the LORD’s house.

NIV all the officials sent Jehudi son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to say to Baruch, “Bring the scroll from which you have read to the people and come.” So Baruch son of Neriah went to them with the scroll in his hand.

NIV Then the officials said to Baruch, “You and Jeremiah, go and hide. Don’t let anyone know where you are.”

시대 배경이 잠깐 앞으로 당겨진 본문이다. 35장까지는 시드기야 시대의 이야기였는데 지금은 그전 여호야김 시대의 이야기로 당겨졌다,

이스라엘은 지금 금식일을 보내는 기간이다. 이스라엘 백성들은 나름대로의 신앙생활을 계속하고 있었음에도 불구하고 하나님은 심판을 이야기하셨다.

종교생활과 하나님의 심판은 별개의 문제이다. 금식일을 지킬지라도... 하나님에게 심판 받을 수 있다.

그러나 이때도 예레미야는 갇혀있는 몸이었다. 그러나 하나님의 말씀을 갇혀있지 않고 계속해서 이스라엘 백성들에게 전달되어졌다.

이 말씀을 들은 백성들의 첫 반응은 "놀람"이었고, 왕에게 전달하기로 "결단"하였다.

왕이 분명히 이 이야기들에 분노할 것을 알고 있었지만, 이것이 하나님의 말씀이기에 전달하는 모습, 예레미야와 바룩의 안위를 걱정하는 모습

나도 .... 금식일은 지키지만.... 하나님의 말씀대로 살지 못하고, 회개하지 않는 이모습.... 나의 정욕에... 나의 만족을 위해 하나님을 잠시 뒷전으로 두는 모습... 이 떠오른다...
