바벨론에 있는 포로 중에서 '사람들이 세운 예언자'들이 일어나 곧 예루살렘으로 귀한하라고 예언 했습니다. 이것은 70년이 지나 예루살렘으로 귀환할 것이라는 예레미야를 통해서 전해진 하나님의 말씀에 반대되는 말 입니다. 이 '사람들이 세운 예언자'들의 말을 듣고 이스라엘 백성들이 예레미야의 말을 거부합니다. 그러자 하나님은 유다에 남아 있는 백성도 하나님의 말씀을 듣지 않았으므로 그들에게 재앙을 내리겠다고 하십니다. 이말은 당장 예루살렘으로 귀환하는 것을 꿈도 꾸지 말라는 말씀입니다. 

거짓 예언자들은 거짓 평화와 위로를 설교했습니다. 

하나님은 포로민에게 예언한 아합과 시드기야를 느부갓네살 손에 죽게 할 것이라고 말씀하십니다. 그들은 하나님의 이름을 도용해 거짓을 예언했고, 간음했기 때문입니다.

지금 이 시대에 하나님의 말씀이 무엇인지 잘 모르겠다... 혹시 나는 거짓 평화와 위로를 설교하고 있지는 않은가.... 

하나님의 말씀을 분별할 수 있는 지혜를 주시고, 말씀을 늘 가까이 하는 지혜를 허락하소서....
